Delete your account
You can permanently delete your MUAA Alumni account and associated data at any time. Deletion is irreversible.
Option 1 — In the app (fastest)
- Open MUAA Alumni and sign in.
- Go to Settings.
- Tap Delete Account (below Sign Out) and confirm twice.
Your account and data are removed immediately and you're signed out.
Option 2 — Request by email (no app needed)
Email info@muasda.org from the email address on your account, with the subject "Delete my MUAA Alumni account." We verify ownership and complete deletion within 30 days.
What gets deleted
- Your login and profile — name, class year, city, title/organization, bio, and profile photo
- Your posts and community-feed activity
- Your event RSVPs
- Your chat messages and chat identity
- Your device push-notification token
- Usage analytics tied to your account
What we may retain
Records that exist only to keep the community safe (for example, a report someone else filed about content) are kept in de-identified form — the link to your identity is removed. We retain no personal profile data after deletion. Donation/payment records, where legally required, are handled per our Privacy Policy.
Crash reports and session replays
If the app ran into an error while you were using it, our diagnostics provider (Sentry) may hold a crash report and a masked recording of the screens involved. All text and images are blanked out on your device before anything is sent, so these show the shape of a screen — never your messages, photos, or what you typed.
These are linked to your account identifier rather than your name or email, along with technical details such as device model, OS version, and IP address. Deleting your account does not remove them — they sit with Sentry and age out on Sentry's own retention schedule, after which they are erased automatically. Once your account is deleted, the identifier they carry no longer refers to anyone.
